The Ontario Association for Families of Children with Communication Disorders (OAFCCD) is a network of parents, caregivers and professionals including Speech Language Pathologists. OAFCCD works with families and individuals to provide support and ensure children and youth have access to effective speech services and language services. OAFCCD guiding principles include:

Transitions are defined as changes from one situation to another, and transitions bring both difficulties and opportunities to the lives of students with Down syndrome. This guide aims to support parents and others as they plan educational transitions for and with students with Down syndrome.

We work to promote, protect and advance human rights through research, education, targeted legal action and policy development.

We advise the Minister of Education on any matter related to the establishment and provision of special education programs and services for students.

It is our purpose to support our loved ones with developmental disabilities to be valued citizens and create their own Awesome 'Ordinary' Life.
